Abstract

The RITRE GLADOS nano-satellite mission being developed with SUNY Buffalo will be the first operational space-based platform specifically designed to observe glints from RSOs over extended time periods, and whose data will be used to infer RSO attributes.  Attribute estimation is important to meet the space situational awareness (SSA) objective of reducing the vulnerability of US satellites to intentional and unintentional threats from unidentified RSO’s. This technology is being applied to for interplanetary missions to assess the mineral and biological resource potential of planets by generating and providing and fusing data sources from Fusion/Analytics, Remote Sensing (M/HSI, SAR) and Potential Field Data (Gravity, Magnetics, Gamma Ray) and providing onboard fusion and analytics to return concise summary datasets
