Maps and Directions

Instructions for getting to Oxford can be found here. We recommend that you arrive by public transport (train or coach) as car parking in the city centre is limited and expensive.

A searchable map of Oxford can be found here.

Hotels

Sites such as expedia.co.uk and lastminute.com often have discounted deals for nearby hotels. Bed and Breakfast accomodation in an Oxford college may be available via University Rooms. Inexpensive backpacker style accomodation within walking distance of the city centre can be found at places such as the YHA. For the more adventurous, accomodation in private homes of widely varying quality and price may be available via AirBnB.com

Getting to Oxford

London Heathrow (LHR) and Gatwick ((LGW) airports are the biggest international airport near to Oxford. You can take the Airline or National Express buses directly from their bus stations to Oxford. An alternative option is to take the Heathrow Express or Gatwick Express train from the airport to London and then a train from Paddington Station to Oxford. Hire cars are also a good option (central Oxford parking is limited but there are good Park & Ride facilities), but a taxi from either airport will be very expensive.
