Maps and Directions
École Normale Supérieure – Campus Jourdan:
Paris Observatory:
We recommend that you arrive by public transport (metro, train or bus) as car parking in the city centre is limited and expensive.
The nearest Metro station to École Normale Supérieure – Campus Jourdan is Porte d’Orléans on line 4, and the nearest RER Cité Universitaire on line B.
The Metro is one of the best options for getting around central Paris. One and two day tickets giving unlimited travel within Paris can be purchased at the airports and all metro stations.
Hotels
Sites such as expedia.co.uk and lastminute.com often have discounted deals for nearby hotels. Inexpensive backpacker style accommodation within walking distance of the city centre can be found at places such as the YHA. For the more adventurous, accommodation in private homes of widely varying quality and price may be available via AirBnB.com
Getting to Paris
Paris Charles de Gaulle (CDG) and Paris Orly (ORY) airports are the biggest international airports near to Paris. You can take train (RER) from either airport to the centre, or the Roissybus (from CDG) or OrlyBus (from ORY) from the airport to central Paris. Hire cars are probably best avoided due to lack of parking. A taxi from an airport will be very expensive.
